The Dutch-Turkish psychedelic rock/Anatolian folk band Altin Gun plays at Brooklyn Steel on September 23 to celebrate their new album, "Garip".

In Turkey in the early 1970s, psychedelic rock and electric guitars began to merge with Anatolian folk music to create a sound that was rooted in tradition but completely new. Now, the band Altin Gun keeps that sound alive. But Altin Gun isn’t based in Turkey; the band formed in Amsterdam when a Dutch bassist posted an ad on Facebook looking for Turkish musicians to play with. Nowadays, the band updates that old sound with elements of electronic pop. Currently on tour, Altin Gun comes to New York to play a show at Brooklyn Steel, on Wednesday, September 23.
