Singer and songwriter Carolina Mama is from Argentina, but she’s based here in New York and her music draws on traditions from around the world. Her debut record, Amina, came out last year and included the sounds of jazz, North African trance music, and Brazilian pop – sometimes in rapid, head-spinning succession. Carolina Mama plays a free show, on July 2 at Lincoln Center’s David Rubinstein Atrium.
