The superstar conductor Gustavo Dudamel begins his eagerly anticipated tenure as the director of the New York Philharmonic tonight. After transforming the LA Phil and becoming one of that city’s most recognizable faces, Gustavo starts his New York adventure by bringing the orchestra to Radio City Music Hall for a special event that will include the pop star Lizzo, the rock guitarist and singer St Vincent, and others. Hosted by actor Live Schreiber, the evening will include music by Gershwin, Bernstein, Philip Glass, and Jessie Montgomery. The inaugural program in Gustavo Dudamel’s first season with the NY Phil, is happening tonight, on September 10, at Radio City Music Hall.
