Harpist Lara Somogyi has spent much of her career working on reinventing the sound world of the harp. Using looping devices and electronic effects, she’s created works that straddle the borders between chamber music, postminimalism, and electronica. Her sound kit has also attracted the attention of some of Hollywood’s top film composers, so you’ll hear her unusual harp textures in everything from The Lion King to Bridgerton. Lara Somogyi brought her harp and a string quartet to our studio and performed a live set in our studio for an episode of Soundcheck, our twice-weekly podcast.
