In 2012 , jazz pianist Robert Glasper unveiled his hugely influential Black Radio project, in which the five-time Grammy winner drew on soul, funk, hip hop, and pop. That series, now three volumes in, quickly became emblematic of the blurring of genre boundaries among today’s more adventurous jazz musicians, and features a starry roster of guest singers and rappers, including the progressive soul singer Bilal.
