Terri Lyne Carrington & Social Science at The Jazz Club
September 25 | 9 pm | Reservations required.
Drummer Terri Lyne Carrington is not just a musician; she’s also the founder and artistic director of Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. For her, music making and social activism are inextricably linked, an idea that shows up in the name of her band Terri Lyne Carrington and Social Science. That group has released two albums, seven years apart, which focus on social justice issues and serve up those ideas on a mix of jazz, R&B, and soul. They play tonight, on September 25, at The Jazz Club on W 56 St.
